Captured during the nautical twilight few days before the great conjunction, near Alqueva lake, at Dark Sky® Alqueva reserve.

The image shows a Crescent Moon featuring a beautiful Earthshine, while planets Jupiter and Saturn were getting closer and closer preparing to “merge” into a single bright star in the sky, at a distance of only 0,1º (6 arc minutes) apart on the night of 21 st December 2020. Below is my shadow enjoying and blessing the planets Christmas kiss. The last conjunction so well visible with naked eye was 800 year ago.
